For nearly a year now, I have been incorporating all-natural products into my daily hair and skin routines. While I had considered it in the past, I made no real effort to change my hair and skin products until I saw a woman that I follow on Instagram share her results from using all-natural hair products. After seeing her results, I decided to finally begin making the switch to all-natural products. Here are the simple changes I made in my hair and skin routines when I decided to Incorporate all-natural products that you can easily make too.

All-Natural Products I Use on My Hair

All-Natural Shampoo Bars

The first product that I switched was my shampoo. I decided to try out shampoo bars because bars do not need to be in a plastic container and I’m also trying to eliminate some plastic in my daily life as well.

At the time, the local shop that I purchased my shampoo bar from, Mule Hell Trading Company, did not actually make shampoo bars but recommended their soap bars to use instead. So, I bought a soap bar and began using that as my only hair cleaning solution.

Using this all-natural product really wasn’t a huge change in my daily hair routine but it did take some time for my hair to adjust to using the shampoo bar. You can read all about that and my experience using shampoo bars in this blog post.

I’ve even written some tips on using shampoo bars that you may find helpful, if you decide to start your own journey to all-natural products.

Mule Hell Trading Company now carries actual shampoo bars and I no longer use the soap bars on my hair. The shampoo bars are excellent and I use them now instead of the soap bars!

If you’d rather try out all-natural products like shampoo bars from somewhere else, Amazon actually carries them! I haven’t personally tried these so I cannot personally say how well they work, but here are some of the top-rated ones on Amazon.

All-Natural Conditioner Bars

The conditioner bars from Mule Hell Trading Company are hands down, my favorite, all-natural hair product that I use! When the shop released them a few months ago, I grabbed one as soon as I could to try it out. My hair was in desperate need of conditioning and again, I wanted an all-natural product. After the first use, my hair was instantly softer and smoother. I can easily run my fingers through my hair now.

Conditioner bars are another easy, all-natural product to incorporate into your daily hair routine. Plus, they also don’t use as much plastic as liquid conditioner bottled in plastic, disposable containers. And did I mention that one bar will last me for about two months or more?! It’s a serious win-win with conditioner bars!

Again, if you’d rather try another conditioner bar than what I personally use, here are some top-rated conditioner bars to check out.

Now let’s move on to all-natural products for my skin routine!

All-Natural Products I Use on My Skin

All-Natural Soap Bars

As I mentioned earlier, I first used Mule Hell Trading Company’s soap bars as my shampoo bar. Well, actually, it was basically my all-in-one product for a while! Talk about saving money! The soap bar cleaned my hair and of course, my body as well.

While I don’t use it on my hair anymore, I still use the soap bars on my body. Instead of using liquid body wash (which usually comes in a plastic container) and loofa (also usually made from plastic), I now use the bar of soap and this next product!

All-Natural Soap Exfoliator and Holder

I use this soap exfoliator bag basically the same way I would use a loofa. However, the soap bar is inside of the little bag and then when water is applied to the bag and soap itself, a good lather can be achieved, much like with liquid body wash and a loofa. It’s just that now, you’re putting all-natural products on your skin instead of plastic and who knows what is actually in regular, mass-produced body wash.

The soap bag (and the holder that comes with it) is, of course, all made out of natural material. The wooden holder is made out of natural pine and the exfoliating bag that I use on my skin is made from sisal.

I recently purchased another reusable, exfoliating soap bag from a small business in North Carolina. While I don’t have any information on what the material is, I know that It feels like a rough wash cloth and is not made of plastic. It feels as if it will last a long time too! I couldn’t find the exact one I purchased but here are some top-rated, all-natural exfoliating bags that are similar to what I use.

For my face, I use the following all-natural products.

Charcoal Face Scrub

A few months ago, I began using Mule Hell Trading Company’s Clear Complexion Facial Scrub. It contains charcoal and other organic ingredients and is great for normal to acne-prone skin.

I personally use it in the shower to remove excess makeup and to cleanse my face. I do not have acne and rarely breakout so I cannot say whether this facial scrub works for clearing up skin. It does however, seem to leave my face feeling and looking clean and smooth!

Oh, and I mention that the soap bar version of this facial scrub was featured on Buzzfeed?! Here’s the article! It’s number 6 on the list.

So, if you already use a facial scrub in your skin routine, then I would suggest just doing a bit of research and find one that has more organic, all-natural ingredients in it. Of course, I like using the charcoal one from Mule Hell Trading Company but there are other facial scrubs out there to choose from as well.

I wanted to add in this last brand because I recently discovered something awesome about them!

E.l.f. Makeup Products

Now, I’m not sure of the exact ingredients they use in their products but I wanted to mention E.l.f. Cosmetics because they are cruelty-free, paraben-free, AND vegan! You can read more information about their products here.

Honestly, I just used some of their products for years because they were so affordable. It wasn’t until recently that I discovered they were vegan and cruelty-free oh, and paraben-free too! That makes me love their products even more.

I was using makeup products that align with how I am trying to transition my lifestyle and I didn’t even know it!

Here are some of the E.l.f. Cosmetics products that I use or have used in the past that I like:
